Science and tech-fans from all over Germany gathered at the 2016 Maker Faire Hannover last weekend. Those who had the chance to be there, experienced an event full of innovative ideas and creative people. According to the organizers, the fair was a huge success this year. The three-day event started on Friday with a special student day. School classes and their teachers were offered a free entry for the Maker Faire. The goal of the organizers is to inspire kids in a playful way to get into science and technology. Anyway, the fair had to offer many exciting projects. No matter if you like soldering and programming boards, being creative at a studio or controlling drones – they had something for everyone. In several workshops and presentations, young and old tinkers had the chance to get some advice on any maker topic. Some of the Maker Faire highlight were a life-sized R2-D2 which was built by the R2 Builders Club and several incredible steampunk models.
Another highlight from the Maker Faire was our Tinkerbots stand, of course. We would like to thank all visitors who spend some time playing with Tinkerbots and getting to know our robot building set. We were able to make many kids happy. The youngsters showed their interest especially in our Advanced Builder Set. This kit lets you build five different models like the Racer, the Top Dog and the Android L30. Young visitors especially enjoyed the easy handling of Tinkerbots. You can control them at the push of a button or via our smartphone app.
The next Maker Fair in Hannover will take place between August 25th and August 27th in 2017. But don’t worry, there is another Maker Faire in Germany this year. It takes place from September 30th till October 2nd in the German capital. So, come to visit the Tinkerbots stand at STATION Berlin! We are looking forward to seeing you!
