Crazy Racer Award 2016

On the 23rd of January we held our very first Crazy Racer Award! In the Type & Tech & Toys Concept Store by Letters are my Friends in Berlin we opened our doors and welcomed ten builders and their crew to this fun event of building their own racing cars.

10 kids racing with our Wheeler Set

Ten kids aged 5 to 8 years old created very diverse racing car using only our Tinkerbots Wheeler kit and various LEGO® bricks. There was no stop to creativity as they have developed innovative, futuristic and even complex racing cars housing a home for the driver. Thanks to our adapter bricks it is possible to combine Tinkerbots with LEGO® bricks and thus build even more creative cars.

After playing around and building their cars, the kids tested their racers and steered them on our very own racing track via smartphone and tablet. Tinkerbots connect to our own application that you can install on Android or iOS Smartphones and tablets and control them in this way. Our three Tinkerbots founders took the lead as jury and evaluated the creativity and speed of the cars. Nico, 7 years old, was awarded the Tinkerbots Baumeister Award for his great Wheeler-Racer. As for speed, Leon, 7 years old, was the fastest in completing the set circuit and won our Speedchampion award.

Both Nico and Leon were very happy with their awards and even more excited about winning their Wheeler Set building kit. Not only the kids had fun. Both parents and friends had a good time watching the kids play, but also getting down on their knees building their own robots, not only with the Wheeler Set but also trying out our Advanced Builder and Sensoric Mega Set.

Building your dream car

We all know remote controlled cars in the form of racing cars, monster trucks or machines like excavators. All are fun to cruise around the room or house – but haven’t you dreamed of adding wings to your car, further seating to bring more people along on the journey or painting your vehicle in different colors?

Combine your Tinkerbots with LEGO® bricks

With our Tinkerbots Wheeler Set you can bring many of your ideas to life. Other than our basic robotic building kit you can add some LEGO® bricks you might already have at home and the fun begins. Thanks to our Tinkerbots adapter bricks the building kit becomes compatible with all LEGO® bricks. Simply select the Tinkerbots modules you will need for your robot, add the Cubies to give it shape, top it off with an adapter brick and combine your robot with the LEGO® bricks you have at home. How many different robots can you build?

Just the other day we saw how creative kids can be when we invited 10 young inventors to create their own racing cars with our Wheeler Set at our Crazy Racer Award event. They have built the coolest cars! Cars with a cabin for the driver and a backyard, cars with wings and canons to defend the car from possible attacks, double-decker cars and many more colorful vehicles that could be controlled via our Tinkerbots App for smartphone and tablet. With the Tinkerbots Wheeler Set the LEGO® bricks came to life and the children built the cars they had always dreamed of.

Tinkerbots as presents

Are you looking for a cool present for kids age 6 or older? With Tinkerbots building kits your children take their first steps in the world of robotics. Building their robots and controlling them through their own movements or an application on their smartphone.

For us the most interesting robots are those that move on their own and that can be taught or controlled – That is why we love to play around with electronics, mechanics and sensorics. There are many electronic robots that you can find in the shelves of toy stores but the coolest are those that you can build yourself, at least that is what you believe.

This is how Tinkerbots works

Just like cardboard and clay we want to give you the power to decide what your robot looks like! And you can do this with Tinkerbots – Our sets come with modules that move, many bricks to add color and shape and one Powerbrain that receives all signals and transmits them to the other modules.

You do not need to know how to program to be able to build your own robot. Just like a cardboard robot you just plug and turn and the modules work – You can teach your robot how to move through moving the modules and recording their movements through the Powerbrain or connnect the robot to your smartphone or tablet through our App.
